Outdoor Shakespeare Play at Ottawa Lake

  • Sunday, July 05, 2015
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Ottawa Lake Recreation Area, S59 W36630 County Road ZZ, Dousman WI
Shakespeare comedy on a summer afternoon--what could be nicer? On Sunday, July 5, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will be performed for free at the outdoor amphitheater on the shore of Ottawa Lake.
Summit Players is a theatrical troupe of six recent Marquette University graduates who use minimal props. The group has been performing this play for free in state parks throughout Wisconsin since early June. Come catch the final performance of their summer road trip! See this link for more info.
Arrive at 1:00pm for the workshop, if you'd like to hear about Shakespeare's words and his approach to nature in his plays. The performance runs from 2:30 to 3:45pm. You may wish to bring a lawn chair or a cushion, beverages, snacks, and sunscreen.
Please call Ann in advance at 262-786-8539 so she saves you a bench seat or chair space, and in case of inclement weather.
Directions: Ottawa Lake Recreation Area (same location as July 11 club picnic) is at S59 W36630 County Road ZZ in Dousman. On Highway 67 between Dousman and Eagle, take County ZZ WEST for 0.2 miles and go north/right at the entrance. After passing the park building, go left, and then turn right into the first parking lot for picnic shelters A & B. The amphitheater is off the far end of the parking lot, along the lake. See page 2 of this link for a map of the rec area. A state park sticker is needed for your vehicle.
