A 30 mile bike ride will start at 10am from the shelter; this is a ride that can easily be tailored to do less miles if desired. There is a self-guided nature canoe trail around Ottawa Lake for any interested. The beach is near the shelter for swimming. Hiking at the lake is limited, but there are many options nearby in the South Kettle Moraine.
