A cold night in mid-winter might be the perfect time for some flavors of the Middle East. On Thursday, February 23, Exploring Cuisines will be dining at Jerusalem Pastries and Grills located at 4171 S 76th St. in Greenfield.

The restaurant advertises itself as having “authentic Mediterranean flavors”. The shrek and pita breads are homemade and all meat is halal. There are sandwiches like Chicken Shawrma ($6.99) to choose from. With your sandwich you can choose toppings like turnip pickle, hummus or pomegranate molasses. There are also plates like Kafta Kabob ($11.99). And, there is an abundance of sweets and pastries to choose from. How about warbat, described as “a triangle of crispy, hand-rolled dough filled with pistachios, cashews, cream or cheese”?
