April's Monthly Meeting will feature presentations by Vicki Samolyk, Sally Heuer and Steve Culver. Come and be inspired by accounts of their two separate journeys in Europe. Maybe you've seen a movie called "The Way" about a pilgrimage journey on foot across northern Spain to the famed city of Santiago de Compostella. After seeing the film for the first time on a Nordic Ski Club bus trip, Vicki Samolyk was inspired to walk the Camino de Santiago with a friend (and former Nordic Ski Club member) Chris Shaffer in the spring of 2016. Join her as she walks in the footsteps of Martin Sheen and thousands of other pilgrims, sharing her pictures and stories of this historic route. Sally and Steve have sailed in the waters of the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, Maine, and the Great Lakes. In the fall of 2017, they had an opportunity to achieve their dream of sailing in Greece. Due to their sailing and culinary skills, they were invited to crew with a Milwaukee resident who keeps a sailboat in a marina near Athens. Share their adventures in the northern Cyclades and eastern Peloponnisos as they visited ancient archeological sites and historic, picturesque towns in the Aegean Sea. 6:15 p.m. Gather, socialize and eat dinner. Tapas (Pizza) and Greek Salad will be provided, as well as water, soda, and dinnerware 7:15 p.m. Peoples Passions program begins 9-10 p.m. Socializing
Location: Greenfield Park Pavilion 2028 S. 124th Street, West Allis
