WEAR BLAZE ORANGE ON THE TRAIL! Gun deer-hunting seasons have been extended this year into mid-October and parts of December to control deer and the spread of chronic wasting disease. This means that state park and forest hiking, skiing, and biking trails will have both hunters and recreational users at the same time. Most trails are open to hunting, so it is advised to wear blaze orange during the gun deer-hunting seasons in October, November, and December if skiing or hiking in the Kettle Moraine State Forest . For a list of the hunting season dates, go to the DNR website at www.dnr.wi.gov. |
