Join the Nordics at 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 5 for a local ski outing at the Nordic Trails located in the Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit north of La Grange, WI.  Due to the recent snowstorm, the Nordic Trails have better skiing conditions than the Zillmer Trails that was our planned ski outing.

With good snow, the Nordic Trails are a delight for cross-country skiers. The trail system is less than an hour's drive from Milwaukee. The Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee will cross-country ski on our namesake trail. It was originally designed in the 1970s by David Harrison, the Nordic Ski Club's first elected president. This scenic trail system has options for beginners to expert skiers with over 35 km of trails. Be ready to ski at 1 pm next to the shelter at the Nordic Trail. The shelter should be open, and restrooms will be.

Directions: Take I-43 south from Milwaukee to HWY 20 (East Troy) west. Take 20 till it ends, when you take a jog left (west) onto Hwy 12. Go to County Rd. H and turn right (north). The Nordic Trail is a few miles up the road on the right (east). You can print a trail map from this Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit Maps page. 

A Wisconsin state park sticker is required for your vehicle as well as a state trail pass for each skier.
