55th Anniversary at the Golden Mast (Sunday, April 26, 2026)

Our 55th Nordic Ski Club anniversary is fast approaching. There's still time to register. We have 70 people committed to attend. Most likely we'll have 80 or more. On Sunday afternoon April 26, we'll greet friends from over the decades as we watch the sun set over Okauchee Lake. The sun also will be setting on the Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee since we plan to dissolve our corporation and our website in September. We'll dine at the Golden Mast Inn in Okauchee (near Oconomowoc). This popular venue is run by the Weissgerber family, and our club has enjoyed visiting their restaurants previously. The place has excellent food and scenic views.

We hope to have as many current and veteran club members attend as possible. Several past presidents already have registered. We will continue to take reservations postmarked by March 31. If you are not a current NSCM member and want to attend, we ask that you rejoin the club for the individual membership of $25. The club will subsidize the cost of your meal by $30 for each member. To rejoin, go to the Nordic Ski Club website under membership and pay online OR print out a membership form and mail it and a check, with your banquet registration, to Paula Brookmire, the banquet coordinator and NSCM historian. Fire and Fun at Lapham Peak (Friday, May 15, 2026)

Get ready to celebrate spring with the hope of summer being right around the corner. Join your fellow Nordics for a picnic, yard games, campfire, laughter, and conversation. We will meet at the pavilion by the Evergreen shelter at Lapham Peak State Park in Delafield starting at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 15 (Raindate to be determined).

Picnic: Everyone can bring their own dinner, beverages, and lawn chair. Campfire: bring your lawn chair, extra firewood if you have it. Come join in the fun.

Summer Picnic (Saturday, June 27, 2026)

Games, food, camaraderie, a possible hike or bike ride—let’s gather for a picnic on the last Saturday afternoon in June. The Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee will meet in Pewaukee in lovely Wagner Park, situated between Pewaukee Rd. and County Hwy F.

Pewaukee resident Cathy Ward has reserved us an indoor building (in case of rain) with electricity, restrooms, and good parking. We can bring a grill if we want. This is a potluck. Please text us to let us know what you’re thinking of bringing—so we don’t end up with all salads or all desserts. Beer, wine and seltzer are allowed in the park. We’re looking for help with the following:

Someone who’s willing to grill picnic food
People who’d like to bring games (outdoor or indoor)
Volunteers to help us clean up (we must take out all garbage and clean the facility)
