We're heading outdoors for the Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee holiday party on Sunday afternoon, December 4. Two years ago we had a successful hot-soup party in the snow. It's unlikely to be snowing in early December. So we'll start with a hike led by Paul Keber at 10:45 am.
Drive to Lapham Peak State Forest, off HWY C near Delafield (you'll need a state park sticker). Meet Paul at the park's Mike Fort covered shelter off the Homestead Hollow parking lot. From about noon to 4 we'll have a cook stove with 3 pots. We ask everyone to bring a can of either a white-base soup, a red base or a vegetarian soup. We'll provide hot chocolate and crackers. Some members will bring Christmas cookies to share. See more details in the NSCM December newsletter.
The Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee (NSCM) continues to practice social distancing and the use of face masks, as recommended by the CDC and Wisconsin authorities. Know that your participation in any event is at your own risk. Before attending any NSCM outing or event, please check with the event leader. Use good judgement and continue to keep us all safe.
