In a cheap motel room, an embezzling mayor is supposed to meet with his female accountant, while in the room next door, two undercover cops wait to catch the meeting on videotape. But there’s some confusion about who’s in which room, who’s being videotaped, who’s taken the money, who’s hired a hitman, and why the accountant keeps taking off her clothes."

If this synopsis of the play "Unnecessary Farce" sounds entertaining, then plan to join your Nordic friends for an evening of laughter at Lapham Peak's Summer Stage on Wednesday, July 31, at 7:30 pm. If you don't have a state park sticker you will need to pay a special $5 entrance fee that evening. July 31 is a "value night" so all tickets are only $13 and may be purchased when you arrive or online ahead of time through their website https://summerstageofdelafield.org/. They recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time for these special value nights. Summer Stage is situated in a natural grass amphitheater, so bring lawn chairs or a blanket for your place on the grass, and dress for the weather. They spray the area for mosquitos, but you might want to bring bug spray along, just in case.

You are allowed to come as early as 6:00 pm and bring your own food and beverages to have a picnic before the play. They also sell snacks and a few beverages like water, beer, wine, and soda. No grills or pets are allowed. After you park, it’s a 300 yard walk from the parking lot to the stage area, but they do have a golf cart that can take you right to the box office with your chairs & coolers if you need a lift.
