Summer Stage at Lapham Peak

  • Lapham Peak

This summer there are two opportunities to join your Nordic friends for an evening of entertainment at Lapham Peak's Summer Stage: on Wednesday July 22nd, and Tuesday, September 15th, at 7:30 pm. If you don't have a state park sticker you will need to pay a special entrance fee of $10 or only $3 for seniors age 65+ that evening. These dates are "value nights" so all tickets are only $15 and may be purchased when you arrive or online ahead of time through their website https://summerstageofdelafield.org/. Lapham Peak's address is W329 N846 County Road C, Delafield, WI.

They recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time for these special value nights. However, all tickets are charged a $3 service fee unless paying with cash on arrival. Then the fee is only $1.

On July 22nd we'll be seeing "The Merry Wives of Windsor," a comedy by William Shakespeare described this way: "Get ready for laughter, love, and a little mischief with this fast-paced comedy that follows the outrageous Sir John Falstaff as he tries to woo two clever, married women - only to find himself a target of their hilarious revenge. Packed with witty wordplay, mistaken identities, and spirited schemes, this play is a delightful celebration of community, cunning, and comeuppance."

As a special bonus, the director has agreed to meet with our group at 7:00 pm under the picnic shelter behind registration at the entrance for a Q&A session, since he is setting his version of the play in the 1970's. Plan to arrive a little before 7:00 pm to grab your spot on the hill, then head over to the picnic shelter to meet Dustin.

Summer Stage is situated in a natural grass amphitheater, so bring lawn chairs or a blanket for your place on the grass, and dress for the weather. They spray the area for mosquitos, but you might want to bring bug spray along, just in case. You are allowed to come as early as 6:00 pm and to bring your own food and beverages to have a picnic before the play. They also sell snacks and a few beverages like water, beer, wine, and soda. After you park, it’s a 300-yard walk from the parking lot to the stage area, but they do have a golf cart that can take you right to the box office with your chairs and coolers if you need a lift. No pets are allowed, and smoking and the use of grills are prohibited.

If you have any questions and/or plan to attend, contact Joanne Ziarek at 262-821-2064 and leave a message, so we can look for you that evening.
